"I don't understand women"

The other day I was talking to my friend, George Stephanopoulos*, about his weekend.  George told me how a female friend of his held him hostage the entire weekend while she cried over a break up.  He was there for her, bringing her food and giving her comforting words and then the tears would start all over again. It got me thinking how nice it would have been if he had known that she would cry for days. What if she came with a manual and under the breakup section it had the following:

Break Ups:
*This woman will cry for 2 days.

*Be sure to have all errands ran and stock up on ice cream and movies
.
Then I wondered what my instruction booklet would say because every woman is different. And I gotta tell ya, being a woman is difficult sometimes. There are the hormonal mood swings where I’m literally checking the calendar and thinking Oh, I’m just moody. I really wouldn't get hurt over something like this. Shake it off. And days where I feel fat. Yeah, something is definitely happening to me. Lately I’ve been feeling more girly than usual. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my jeans and sneakers but recently I’m longing for the days were I wore dresses and skirts regularly.  I guess I’m going to have to find a balance. I’ve gotten off topic, let’s bring it back.  Maybe I should add “gets off topic” to my mine?

Before I go on, I want to say this is just for humor only and I’ll only scratch the surface of me. I can’t let everything be known about me. What’s that cliché? A woman’s heart is an ocean of secrets or something to that effect. So without further ado I give you my instructions:

Sadness (someone yelled at her)
*If crying just hug and say “Shake it off”.

Sadness (argument with friend/family)
*Hug followed by “It’ll work out”. Be sure to take her side.

Sadness (death or terminal illness of loved one)
*Just hold her for as long as needed. No words.

Valentine’s Day
*Send her favorite flowers to work.
*Take her to dinner.

Birthday
*Dinner. No gifts. Not even she knows what she wants for her birthday.

Competitions
Never let her win. She likes to beat you fair and square.

Quality Time
*One date a week.

How To Tell If She Likes You
*This woman does not come with that feature.

If only this were true. Guys, it’s really not that complicated. Just know the woman you have chosen. Some women are high maintenance and some just don’t care.  They can be mean or loving.  They can put up a front or a wall or they can let you in right away. Men seem to have it so easy. Too easy almost.  The rejection from a woman is the only thing that can put a little hiccup in your day, but you bounce back so quick.  You guys take about 30 minutes to get ready. How I wish that were true for me! You always seem stable and hardly change over the years.  I take at least an hour to get ready. I constantly have my guard up.  I hate losing to a guy. I’m both fascinated and yet terrified of the opposite sex.  Even though it seems complicated, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Because in all honesty, it feels good to be a woman.

*Not the real George Stephanopoulos. I’m now letting my guy friends pick their aliases.

Time > Money

Oftentimes I get asked why I don’t go back to school and get my degree or seek a job with more money. My answer is time. I love the time I have with my family. Sure, I can get my degree and make more but those are hours with my family that I wouldn't be able to get back. They’re only little once. Besides, we’re doing fine with what I make and what I have budgeted. I don’t want to miss any games, plays or field days. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE school, I just love family time much more. I cherish every water fight, every game, every outing, basically every second I have with them.  I want them to look back and remember all the laughter and fun instead of me hitting the books and being too busy.

There will come a time when I’ll be able go back to school and more. Perhaps I’ll even enroll when my youngest does.  For now, though, they need me.  I have a teen and what teen doesn't need guidance? There’s no way I’ll pass that up. It’s not just the kids; it’s time with my mother when she’s in town. When I’m off for the day, I can spend time with her.  It’s the time with my siblings, even though it’s rare when we see each other, I treasure that.

I guess I’m pretty loyal to the titles: mother, daughter, and sister. I do get “me time” and I enjoy it. I’m on a mini vacation from work as I type. One that I did not plan too well for! Ha ha.  I saw that both children would be away with camps and I thought Hmmm, why not take few days for myself? I really should have put more thought into this and planned a weekend getaway or something.  I’m dreadfully bored and even the roommate has noticed how quiet the house is without the kids.  I've visited and spent time with my peeps and have cleaned almost everything in this house.  Maybe next year I’ll add a line in my budget just for a situation like this but this is the first time this happened. Last year when I was alone I put in overtime so I wouldn't be bored. Come to think of it, I didn't even take a full week off last year either! But I digress...

Some people have an awesome support system to where they can go back like a spouse or parents and I think that’s great. But for me, it’s just me deciding how to spend time wisely.  And with that, family comes first.

With A Little Help From My Friends

I’ve had a best friend since second grade. Now it may not be the same best friend but I’ve always had one since I was seven. I seem to get a new one during different phases of my life. It happens. One of you moves away or goes to another school or it could be that you just grow apart. Still, I love how my close friends have been there for momentous occasions in my life. And yes, at times my significant others became my best friend. But lately, I’ve been finding myself becoming a loner. Not on purpose, but as adults we all have busy lives and sometimes schedules don’t always match up. When ALL of your female friends are married with children, you have to work around them.  I still have my guy friends though, and they are just as cool. The only thing is that I can’t talk to them about everything. But they’re still cool.

When I first started my job five years ago, there was something missing. I looked around and saw no one close to me in age. No females in their 20’s?!?!  How was I going to survive? Who would I email? Who would get pop culture references and random movie quotes???  Everyone was in their 40’s and up. So I kept my head down and ignored everyone. I would put my headphones on and just get work done. But I began to get lonely at work. I began wishing one of my friends would get a job there just so I could dine with someone at lunch.

In one of my earlier blog posts “All They Can Do Is Say No”, I revealed about taking chances and moving to different departments within the company.  I’m not sure how it started but by my 3rd year there I began taking breaks with an older woman.  We would go for walks on our breaks (we still do) and vent or talk about things going on in our lives.  I figure, why not? Let me try this out and really give it a shot.  The age difference would provide some insight.  I’m glad I did.  The woman had a lot of inside information since she had been with the company for a long time. Then I branched out and started talking to all the older ladies in my section. When our department moved I found a coworker closer to me in age (by this time I’m in my thirties).

I’m so glad I did this.  It has made work FUN. I come to the older ladies anytime I have a dilemma that could use their expertise and once a woman sewed the hem on my pants because she had a sewing kit and I ripped them somehow.  And with my young friend, I have someone to instant message about regarding clothes and other girly things.  We also have men in our department and in my old department we didn't have any.  I notice a huge difference with having men on the team. Women can be emotional creatures.  The men balance us out a lot and I love hearing their suggestions. We once had a video conference regarding my new haircut.  I had a heart to heart talk with one of my male coworkers and it felt good to get some things off of my chest.  I’ll email him for advice on some things and sometimes I’ll tell him when he is being too harsh on other employees (he’s a lead).

During this loner phase, I’ve found that I have really grown close to my coworkers.  I love them and their different personalities and I can't imagine not having them now.  Recently, we gave out yearbook awards.  Everyone got a certificate and what they were voted as.  I was voted Class Clown.  There was Coolest Employee, Best Dressed, Best Dancer, etc. etc. etc.

I love the social version of me a lot better than the quiet employee that I used to be.  I’m so late on this revelation but it is true, friends are all around us, we just have to be open to them.

The Third Option

What would you do if you were seeing someone and things seemed well, but then your ex whom you've recently gotten over has come back into your life? And no, I’m not talking about me, lol, I never look back. Someone close to me has this dilemma.

Healing FULLY after a breakup is important. I don’t believe in seeing other people to get over someone. We’re all much stronger than that. Pat* fell in love with the rebound.  But in recent events Pat’s ex has come back not knowing about the new love. Pat has not told Ex about New Love but New Love knows about Ex. After discussing this, I did get somewhat to the heart of the matter. New Love is good person and even thought Pat has slight reservations regarding New Love, Pat feels that if they break up and New Love leaves then what if that was Pat’s only chance to be with someone who is as good as Pat has been with.

So to review we have Pat with strong feelings for New Love but also letting Ex come in through a crack in the relationship, not fully but ever so slightly. Of course I sat back and let Pat be Pat. But I did leave on this note: Just because you didn't choose Ex doesn't mean you have to choose New Love. There is always that third option. Neither.

I can see Pat struggles with feelings of loneliness.  People make mistakes and get involved with the wrong people because of those feelings. Sometimes they find the right one but their desperation and clinginess is a turn off and the other person runs.

I hope things turn out well for Pat in the end. I don’t want to see anyone I care about hurt or confused. Just remember, sometimes door #3 is you.  You deserve the best.

*I'm trying to remain as vague as possible on gender. Unisex name it is!

The Short Hair Chronicles (Episode 1?)

A few weeks ago I had a migraine. Not only that, my head felt like it was on fire. My neck hurt, too, for some reason. I quickly deduced that it must be that my hair is too long.  When your hair is down to your bum it can feel quite heavy. Frantically I opened drawers looking for scissors. I called to my daughter to bring me some of her scissors. When she asked why I responded that I was going to cut my hair.  Sensing I was about to make a horrible decision….she ran off and got them.

Yeah, it was kind of like this.

Using geometry, I figured that putting my hair in a high pony tail on my head and then pulling it to the front and away from my face about 5 inches would get me the desired results. This angle would make the hair in front shorter than the hair in the back.  I bent over the trash can and began hacking away.  When I was done I pulled my hair out of the band and shook my hair. “Cool! You should be a barber!” exclaimed my daughter.  I didn’t feel like correcting her, I just ran to a mirror.  Not bad.  It did look layered in the front, but the back was slightly uneven.  Plus my hair still felt heavy.

I started harassing everyone I knew that had good hair for the name of their stylist. Finally, I got one.  His name was Israel and he works out of Haute Innovations. If you’re in the DFW area you should check him out.  My friend gave me his link on Schedulicity and I set up an appointment. Since he does not take walk-ins this would ensure that I would be his only focus during my time there.

I then perused the interwebs for celebrities that I look nothing like.  Google searches for “Eva Mendes Short Hair”  “Penelope Cruz Long Bob” and “Selena Gomez Thick Hair Bob” began to take place. I settled on 3 different looks and printed them out and went to bed.

Twinsies!

But I couldn’t really fall asleep.  What if it didn’t look right? Will it be elementary school all over again?  You see, I had a bad bob back in the day.  Maybe it was a good bob, but at 10 I didn’t know much about styling or controlling frizz.  I consoled myself with the fact that technology in hairstyling tools and products has come a long way since the 80’s and 90’s. No, this is going to be a good thing. I will pull this off.
The morning of the cut was like the first day of school. I even dressed up. I worked from home that day so my usual uniform is yoga pants and a band or superhero shirt.  Not today, my friends.  Today I was going in dressed professional and even did full make up.  I meant business.

I walked in and felt so at ease. Talk about hitting it off right away.  We talked and talked and talked and I had confidence that it was going to go well.  When he was done he spun me around and I absolutely loved it! I was just what I needed because I was in a rut.  My hair was long, one length, utterly boring.  Now it had some flair and went with my personality.  I hugged him and thanked him.  Also I didn’t want to leave, lol, we had such a good time talking.  I really wanted to call in and tell my boss I wanted the rest of the day off. I just wanted to stay and talk to Israel all day.  Working at home keeps me from socializing a lot as you can see.

After work I sent pictures to my mom and family. I also kept walking by mirrors and turning my head swiftly so my hair would shake with my movements.  So I have a cut and style that I liked, the real test is how well I would style it after I washed it. I won’t keep you in suspense. I handled up and styled it! Although, I did forget my hair was short when I took a shower and I accidentally poured a huge blob of shampoo.  I do love that I’m saving money on products. But it’s weeks later and my hair grows super-fast and I need a cut again.  Argh!!!!

I love it this length. Don’t get me wrong, I plan to let my hair grow out as soon as life slows down and I can go back to spending an hour on it. But for now, at this busy point in my life, it’s perfect.  If you want to take a look it’s on my Twitter profile pic. @TheTrueSandy

It Gets Easier

Today I was remembering a time back in the day when I had an infant and a toddler at the same time. It was just the three of us.  Even then, I felt compelled to help out the community in some way.  I’ve had this desire to give back and I think it happened when I had children. Before them, I was selfish and all about me, me, me.  During this time we lived in some really rundown apartments. But it was the constant thought of “how can I help those doing worse than me?”  Because no matter how bad we have it, someone is always doing worse.

I remember a school supply fundraiser happening and I wanted to do something to help, anything really.  I signed up and was assigned to stand on a median with 3 others one Saturday morning (you have to have a permit to do this, by the way). I paid a friend to watch my children and began the exhausting day of gathering donations.  In the end, I realized that what I received was around what I paid for a babysitter.  A friend had watched my children and, even though she would have done it for free, I wanted pay her.

"Because no matter how bad we have it, someone is always doing worse."

This might seem like common sense but I suspect there are other people out there like me. We want to help, we want to get involved but we also have small children. There were a couple of times where I was guilt-tripped into volunteering.  But I had to realize that it’s okay to say no; a time would come when they would be older and I could help then.  It’s okay to focus on just my kids.  They’re only little once. I could see if a volunteer opportunity came up where I could take my little ones, but that’s extremely rare.

There were other times where I solely wanted to talk to other adult. I ran into another mom who currently  has a similar situation as I once did. I assured her, it gets easier. I know its tiring doing everything for two little people, but they get older. In the meantime, enjoy it.  Before you know it, you’re sending them off to school.  And then if you volunteer for anything you can bring them with you! lol I’m glad I took a step back when they were little because now I’m so involved with their schools, our community, and signing up for so many other things that we are extremely busy.

Now it’s better because they can help out alongside me and I want to show them that we have to take care of each other in this world.  So if anyone reading this was in my shoes and you feel lonely and tired, I just want to say that it does get easier….. until they’re teenagers. ;)

Movie Review: Man of Steel

Movie Review

Man of Steel

Rated PG-13:
Sci-fi Violence
Destruction
Language

I saw Man of Steel yesterday and wanted to share my opinion on the movie. I’ll try my best to keep it as spoiler free as possible.

In a nutshell, I loved it. Was it flawless? There was one teeny thing that bugged me; I may put it in the comments in case anyone doesn't want to know.

Going into the movie I was a little upset at a few changes so I was ready to be the first to say I didn’t like it, but then I became sold on Christopher Nolan’s vision. For one, they removed the red briefs he wears over his suit and it proved to be a good move. I guess I was  just wanting classic Superman. Secondly, the “S” on his chest was his Kryptonian symbol for “hope”. I also liked that change as well. To bring Superman into modern times these minor adjustments were needed.

I love the fact that they made the character manly. As a child he wasn’t “aw shucks” and as a man he chose some odd jobs that fit a character that wanted to lay low. (I loved that they didn’t make Henry Cavill shave his chest, I thought it was sexy.) There were some aspects that reminded me of Smallville. The fact that he had to come to grips with who he is and who he is meant to be weighed heavily on Kal-El. They stayed true to Superman being a golden boy and never wanting to kill anyone. And Nolan did it wonderfully.

Henry Cavill nailed the character and I’m glad because I had a few reservations about him. I can still picture him in “The Tudors”. He was actually perfect for the part. Amy Adams as Lois Lane was another choice that I wasn’t sure about. I think it was the hair color that threw me. As I watched the movie, I was glad that they focused on her being a hard hitting journalist.  She wasn’t this annoying damsel and she wasn’t this vixen either. She was just Lois and her feelings for Clark were slowly revealed instead of instant love.

I can’t say enough about how great Diane Lane and Kevin Costner were as Martha and Jonathan Kent. I’m really pleased that they were added to the franchise. Basically the movie had awesome casting.

I am reading that “critics” are writing unfavorable reviews and the conspiracy theorist in me says that they must remain loyal to Iron Man 3 or lose their jobs. Lol. But seriously, if we must compare, I had several issues with IM3 and Man of Steel absolutely blew it out of the water.

There you have it. To summarize: I loved Man of Steel, I think Henry Cavill is hot and manly, and I wish critics would stop with the DC/Marvel comparisons.

World War Z is next on my movie agenda. Here's the trailer:

ZOMG. Did you see that at 2:05!? Just crawling over each other super fast! Is team work part of the disease!?!?

A Haunting Past

A while back I was at work having a pretty good day.  Then suddenly a memory hit me out of nowhere.  This was not a good memory, mind you, but one that brought on shame, regret, and sadness.  From there, I went on to remember more mistakes I made in the past until I was beating myself down mentally.

I posted something about needing a hug and got some awesome, uplifting responses from my friends.  My friend, Ed*, texted me to see what was wrong and I told him my past failures and mistakes were getting me down. He replied “All that made the smart woman you are today”, which cheered me up a little. But I was still sad.  Like I wanted to embrace the sadness or something.  As I replayed scenarios over and over in my head, I kept thinking what I would have or should have done differently.  A part of me wanted to hold on to those negative feelings because that’s what made me learn and grow. They were those young, dumb lapses in judgment that we make and I have no intention of repeating them.  I want those bad memories because I became wiser. I just wish I could have not gone through a few experiences to learn what I have learned.  I think it’s okay to hold onto the past for purposes of reflection, but I wasn't just doing that, I was also reliving them and cringing inside.

I had to tell myself that I’m not that person anymore.  I've come a long, long way and even though I still have a ways to go I’m hoping the next phases of life have more to do with listening and heeding advice from others so I won’t have to go through anything based on bad decisions.

I don’t ever want to forget where I came from but I’m not going to let the past define me.

*Because his name is Ed.

Flying (And Doing Other Things) Solo

I’m just going to open with the fact that I’m still not ready to date. I’m a late bloomer in that area, I guess.  Or maybe I just missed the first window.  Since I had kids early, my first window was early. And before we move on, I just want to say that these windows are something kind of ridiculous that I made up and apply to no one but me. The first window for me would have been when the kids were older than 3 but still not a teenager or in middle school yet. Now that my oldest is both, it would be weird to have and teen and then there would be me in love and going on dates like a teen. That’s just gross to me. And I can’t traumatize my children. Or myself.  So while I wait, I consider myself “in training”. I want a check list of things to do alone. This is what I have so far:

  1. Dine alone
  2. Go see a movie solo
  3. Travel alone  (mastered that one a while back)
  4. Have a weekend getaway for just me
  5. Go to a museum by myself
  6. Go to a formal occasion alone
  7. Show up to a book reading

I can’t think of anything else. Usually when I’m alone I rent movies the kids can’t watch and order Chinese and spend the night in. How I relish it. Sometimes I forget that I can up and go wherever on those evenings.

Oh and sorry I haven’t been on in weeks. Everything was crazy busy for weeks at a time. I hoped my TV recaps sufficed. I just don’t like to write on life when I can’t put my heart into it. There were some periods of reflection there. Sometimes I take on too much and I get physically, emotionally, and mentally tired. There will be more posts on that coming up. Until then, be happy where you are in life. J

Once Upon A Time Potential Additions

Once Upon A Time
Potential Additions

Thinking Outside The Box

With the season finale of OUAT soon to be out of the way, what are we fans to do while we wait for season 3? To combat my boredom, I’ve compiled a list of characters, creatures, items and places I hope make an appearance on the show. I was trying to go grander and farther than ever before because a lot of people all want Thumbelina and The Little Mermaid to show up. No, since Dr. Frankenstein has been introduced, what other worlds can we delve into? I’ll list my choices and please feel free to add your own obscure but totally doable persons/places/things.

Characters

Merlin and Morgana Le Faye: Why not add two more magicians to the list? Morgana being evil could take the heat off of Regina and Gold, while Merlin could side with Snow, Charming and Emma.
Hercules: Yes, we have magic and we have science. I say we add mythology to the mix. Herc could fit right into the land of ridiculously good looking men.
Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde: Another villain. If we run out of villains the storyline wanes.  I’m sure a few murders might take place with this man on the loose.
The Frog Prince: He has yet to be mentioned. Even if it’s a cameo,  he should be in there somewhere.
Glenda the Good Witch: I can see her assisting the fairies with good magic. And for some reason, I can see her being killed. L
Paul Bunyan and his blue ox Babe:  American Folklore should be included. Legends start somewhere and who better to include than the man who could eat 50 pancakes in one minute, the man who dug a hole for his ox to drink from and it became one of the Great Lakes?

Creatures

Pegasus: Flying horses have a rightful place in the show and could be quite useful.
Banshees:  Only because they’re freaking scary looking and  the CGI would look awesome.
The Yeti: Because trolls and ogres are getting old.
Cyclops: Same as above but with giants.

Places

City of Atlantis: More places for them to portal! And I’m curious as to how they would write this. I only know of what I saw in the animated movie.
Oz: Well if we’re going to include Glenda we have to include her place. I see this as another Wonderland but freakier.
Mount Olympus: Where the gods roam; it’s a place to portal to get a cure or save someone.
Narnia: Am I reaching on this one? The more worlds we have the more adventures can take place.

Items

The Fountain of Youth: I know we saw the healing waters, but why hasn’t this gem been mentioned?
The Sword in the Stone: Again an awesome addition to a storyline.

There has to be more that I’m missing. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Season 4 Episode 13 Recap
Advanced Introduction to Finality

Wow, so this is it, the beginning of the end.  I got a little misty-eyed during this ep. I don’t want things to change, especially since they've been renewed.

Jeff is finally graduating.  He’s offered a position at his old firm and he decides to take the job. The group plans a wedding-like graduation ceremony for him.  Later with Britta he says he’s worried about the group if he leaves, especially Abed.  Britta assures him Abed has made progress and hasn’t even brought up the darkest timeline.

The following day, Jeff pops in and discusses who gets the sodas by rolling for it. He tosses the die in the air and it lands on its side. Abed panics and leaves feeling this may have caused something. Later, while Dean Pelton has his back turned, a nearly naked Evil Jeff spawns in his office and runs out. As he is at his locker, Evil Annie appears with his mechanical arm. Evil Jeff plans to make Good Jeff take the job and leave his friends behind. Evil Jeff and Evil Annie set out to turn the group against Good Jeff. One by one, as he impersonates Good Jeff, he makes the group angry at him to where they don’t show up to the party. Abed is the only one to know that he has encountered Evil Jeff. Evil Jeff zaps Abed with a paintball warp gun and sends him to the darkest timeline.

Jeff shows up to his party where no one is there and he is confused when he see Annie in a tight, red, strapless dress.  She hands him his phone (the she stole earlier) and pushes him to call Mark and take his old job back. Jeff refuses. Evil Jeff shows up and attempts to send Good Jeff to the darkest timeline but at the last second, Chang jumps in front of the shot. Chang is never mentioned is this ep again.

In the darkest timeline, Abed finds Evil Abed or just regular Abed.  He dropped the evil and has focused on making his timeline brighter. Formerly Evil Abed equips Good Abed with warp paintball guns and sends him back to the good timeline.

Jeff finds the others and tries to explain that it’s Evil Jeff that insulted them. They don’t believe until Abed shows up with Evil Dean and zaps him to the darkest timeline as a demonstration.  The group arms themselves and hurries off to the cafeteria.

In the cafeteria, the Evil gang is already there looking for them. Evil Pierce gets tricked into zapping himself back to his timeline. Evil Britta clumsily does the same. The Shirleys, the Troys, and the Annies take on one another with the Good version winning in each scene. It comes down to Jeff versus Evil Jeff. With Abed’s telling Jeff that none of this is real, Jeff comes out to face Evil Jeff. Evil Jeff shoots and Good Jeff stops the bullet with his mind and then zaps Evil Jeff. Jeff plucks the paintball out of the air and is now back in the study room holding the die. He realizes it doesn’t matter who brings sodas or what as long as he celebrates with friends.

The next scene is Jeff’s graduation ceremony which is extremely similar to a wedding ceremony. The Greendale Human Being is standing next to Jeff, for some reason, and Dean is officiating. The ceremony is interrupted by Pierce who has decided that he wants to graduate first.
At the reception, Jeff thinks he may take a job at a local firm. If he does, he can pop in any time and visit the group. Man, that sounds so final. I haven’t really prepared myself to let go.

High Points

Dean Pelton had the best lines and delivery this episode. “Oooh, burn on Britta” “Catherine do not EVEN tell me you dropped that cake!” Those are just a couple of gems uttered by my favorite character.

Predictions

Well since Chang is in the Darkest Timeline,  I think Evil Chang might come through and wreak havoc.

Any other predictions that I didn't think of?

Hart of Dixie Season 2 Episode 22 Recap

Hart of Dixie
Season 2 Episode 22
"On The Road Again"

Zoe awakens to find that, yes, she did indeed sleep with Wade because she was feeling sorry for herself. As she comes to terms with this George walks in and see’s Zoe and Wade together and is angry and leaves. Does anyone knock anymore?  Anyways, it appears we have a “love” triangle on our hands. I use the word love loosely because she’s only dated one of the guys and the other she has on this pedestal but doesn’t deeply know him. This was the catalyst that makes all three players in this game take some possibly life changing steps.

Zoe’s Course of Action

Zoe goes to Lavon who is in bed with AnnaBeth and asks for their advice. They weren't doing it or anything; she just jumped in slumber party style.  After talking with them, she comes to the conclusion that she needs to get out of Bluebell for a while. She decides to fly to New York for a friend’s wedding. On that flight, a passenger is in dire need of medical attention (Yay! Medical emergencies are back!) and the pilot calls for a doctor on board. As luck would have it, there is not one but two doctors on board. That’s right, Jonah Breeland is on that very flight. Thanks to some quick thinking on Zoe’s part, the passenger was saved. Jonah the lips were blue! Just kidding, who could have noticed that? Only Zoe. The plane does an emergency landing to hospitalize the patient.

George’s Course of Action

George decides to get hammered but along the way runs into Wade’s crazy ex Lily Anne. She needs legal counsel and accompanies George to the bar. As George is kicking back drinks and drawing up a legal document for her, it comes out that his mind is on Zoe.  Lily Anne suggests that he gets past it by writing a song about the heartbreak.  He actually writes a few bars of a song with her help and then gets on stage and performs it.  He goes home and she comes looking for him.  She’s going on tour and needs an extra backup singer and would George like to go along? He ends up going in the end. He needs distance and time to think too.

Wade’s Course of Action

Wade is a little bummed that Zoe rejected him for casual sex a second time.  Yes, that happened. It kind of pushed her into leaving. He goes with Lemon to book the band Gloriana (more on that later).  During the drive he tells Lemon about how he feels like a loser that doesn’t change. Lemon says that he has. He’s opened a bar and hasn’t slept around in a long while.  He takes what Lemon is saying and concludes that he must go after Zoe.  He turns the car around Dukes of Hazzard style and starts off to find her.  He finds her and Jonah at a restaurant because of that sick patient, they didn’t get far.  He and Zoe go for a walk and he lays it on the line. He tells her he loves her. Zoe responds with a “Wow”. Bottom line is that she needs to think. Also she will be spending 3 months in New York working for her old boss.

Side stories

Lavon and the mayor of Filmore are at it again. Since Lavon won’t budge the mayor has kidnapped his gater, Burt Reynolds.  He devises a plan to get him back and it would have gone to hell if it hadn’t been for AnnaBeth saving the day. By the way, more and more people are just falling in love with AnnaBeth. She is a firecracker.

Lemon lied to the Belles about having the band Gloriana play at the Rammer Jammer.  Now she needs it to happen. She set up a meeting with them and that is why our Wade had to tag along.  When Wade veered off course to find Zoe, the meeting was cancelled because she didn’t make. She now has to go back to the Rammer Jammer and face all of those people and let them know that Gloriana is not showing up. But lo and behold, the band is there. And they put in an awesome performance.

We close with Zoe scrolling through her phone and hovering over George’s name in her contact list. Then she hovers over Wade’s name. Suddenly Jonah shows up as Zoe’s plus one at the wedding. I thought weddings had a strict count. Can they do that? As he goes off to the table, Zoe pauses in deep thought and smiles, screen fades to black and credits roll.

Shut the Front Door! Moment

George showing up at Zoe’s after getting dumped by Tansy. Does anyone ever fully get over heartache before rebounding in this town?

Predictions

Not sure. When we open with season 3, I picture Jonah and Zoe getting close but she just can’t go there.  George will finally be over Zoe and she’ll be super hurt. He’ll be a different man coming back from the road. I wonder if Lemon will pursue Wade since she is looking for her own happiness.

What are you predictions? Lay it on us. Nothing is too far-fetched.

Community Season 4 Episode 12 Recap

Community

Season 4 Episode 12 Recap
Heroic Origins

The season is getting better. I loved last episode but this recent ep was up to par as well. Again the gang, minus Pierce, is in their usual room studying for this history final. Pierce is not present due to a kidney donation. Jeff tries to keep the everyone focused but Abed cut in that he has been studying history……their history.

Without getting too specific and detailed, Abed basically proved that they have all crossed paths before going to Greendale. I’ll try to make it easy with a bullet list:

  • Annie (nerdy pill popper) and Troy (super popular athlete) went to high school together (we all know this)
  • Shirley was at the mall buying lingerie for Andre (their anniversary) on the very same day that Abed was there.
  • Britta was at the courthouse with her anarchists group the “an-HER-chists” at the same time as Jeff. Jeff won the ever-important case for a stripper named Misty. Britta actually thanked Jeff for defending women’s rights. A few minutes later Britt’s group dissolves and leaves her alone.
  • Back in the study room Shirley realizes that Misty is the stripper that cheated with Andre. If he hadn’t won the case Misty would be locked up for tax evasion and would not have met Andre. Abed excitedly cuts in “Jeff ends Shirley’s marriage”. An upset Shirley accuses Jeff of ruining her marriage. Jeff interjects that the win didn’t do him any favors. It was to “make” his career but made him a target instead.
  • Back in time Jeff is celebrating with Misty and one of the partners of the law firm.  He dismissed Misty to have a word with Jeff and informs him that there is a rumor that he does not have his degree and cannot practice until it’s sorted.
  • In present time Shirley and Jeff exchange words. Troy voices that he thinks it’s cool they are connected and he’s willing to forgive Annie for wrecking high school. Annie is surprised.
  • Flashback to a high school party. Troy does a keg flip and fakes a career-ending injury. Why? Well earlier that night when Troy wins all high school superlatives, including Most Likely To Succeed, Annie cracks and hurls insults that wound Troy to the core. After her tirade she runs screaming right through a sliding glass door and jumps a fence. Two balloons pop right next to Magnitude and a simple yet effective catchphrase is born.
  • In the study room Shirley wants to stop this as it shows how fragile happiness. She regrets leaving Andre at the restaurant, where he met Misty, to go pick up the kids. Abed suddenly realizes that he was at the mall with her kids.
  • Flashback to Abed at the theater talking to Shirley’s kids. He goes off on a rant about how they are stupid for want to see a Star Wars prequel. They call Shirley to come get them because some strange man frightened them.
  • Abed has to get court ordered therapy because Shirley chewed out the theater and the theater obtained a restraining order against Abed. As he and his dad walk into the therapist’s office we see Annie hiding and Abed mentioning to the doc “someone just stole your prescription pad”. Annie sneaks out into the hallway and runs into Britta liberating a monkey.
  • In present time, Abed comes to the conclusion that he was the bad guy in the study group. Jeff says they’ve all made bad decisions, but the real villain is him.
  • We flash back to the restaurant where Jeff pushes Misty to go back and talk to a married guy at the restaurant.
  • Back in the room the group is unsettled and everyone, but Abed, leaves bummed out.
  • Abed decides to get yogurt in the mall. As he sits there sadly, Jeff joins him. Then Shirley comes out of nowhere and asks to sit there as well. She forgives Jeff as he is not that guy anymore. Britta and Annie show up followed by Troy. Troy says this is the place where he first decided to go to Greendale. Everyone states that’s the place where they, too, decided to go to Greendale.
  • We flash to the mall where Dean and Chang are passing out flyers for Greendale. Shirley upset that she can’t return her lingerie throws it to the ground. Dean walks by and picks it up and something stirs inside him. Chang goes and passes out flyers at the yogurt place. The whole gang is there at their own tables.  They look at Chang’s flyers and resolve to go to Greendale. Chevy Chase makes a brief appearance as the guy who broke the yogurt machine that day.
  • In present time Abed suddenly realizes who really got the group together. He runs off and gets Chang and invites him for yogurt. Chang melts because this is all he ever wanted.
    The new Greendale Seven?

The side plot is Chang conversing with the Dean of City College (called it). The two were going to take down Greendale. Later that day Chang is in the registration office with Dean and he’s sealing a lease renewal for Greendale. It is über important that the renewal goes out that day and he entrusts it in Chang’s hands. After being let in the group he has a change of heart and mails the lease. He then calls Dean Spreck and tells him that he it out of the deal and hangs up. Dean Spreck moves on to Plan B which, according to blueprints, involves a giant spider.

High Points:

Britta and Annie’s 2008 looks were awesome! Plus as a comic book reader, I enjoyed the artwork in between scenes.

Predictions:

The study group will face off with their alternate timeline counterparts.

If last week’s ep was a 9, this week’s was an 8. Which is fine with me as they should never dip below a 6. And this season has had some 2’s and 3’s.

Hart of Dixie Season 2 Episode 21

Hart of Dixie

Season 2 Episode 21
"I'm Moving On"

Where to begin with this episode?  Are there any rational and stable adults left in Bluebell? This was a barrage of  Disney style shenanigans.  Wade holding up a beam looking helpless? Lavon dumping trash on the Filmore mayor’s doorstep? I thought for sure this episode would be better than last week’s but I was mistaken. There was too much going on. My recap is considerably longer than last week’s because of the cluster of subplots.

Let’s begin, shall we?  We open with Zoe showing up at George’s with alcohol. Leave it alone Zoe. I still love Rachel Bilson but Zoe Hart was NOT likable in this episode.  What are they doing to her character? Anyway, Zoe apologizes again and pleads insanity. She also feels the need to tell George that she is online dating. She badly needs a Lavon replacement.

Wade and Lemon are knee deep in repairs at the Rammer Jammer and the cost just keeps going up. Lemon has a respectable contractor to come look at the damage and Wade dismisses him in favor of a considerably less expensive contractor.

Upon returning from giving Dolly Parton a walk, Tansy questions George about why Zoe was walking away from their boathouse. George is honest and lets her know why she was there. Of course she’s not too happy about finding out about Zoe still having feelings about George. She’s naturally upset about it. George attempts to put her mind at ease. Cut to the next scene.

Rose is rifling through Zoe’s clothes because 9th and 10th grade prom is coming up.  Can someone tell me if that’s actually a thing? I thought there was only junior and senior prom. When did underclassmen get their own dance? My bad, let’s move on. Rose is going with Matt. Remember him? The kicker that had a crush on Zoe. While she’s doing that, Zoe is on the laptop looking at the potentials that have hit her up on the site. Apparently she did a bad job setting it up because Rose steps in and helps her. One guy catches Zoe’s eye and she’s feeling good about him.

At the Breeland residence, Brick sits his daughters down and announces his engagement to Shelby. The girls are shocked. On top of that, he casually mentions that he proposed after surgery for his tumor. Right after that Shelby chimes in that she left Brick as he lay dying in the hospital. I’m not sure if I liked this scene or I just wanted to like it.

Back at the Rammer Jammer, Lavon tells Wade he needs to shut down for repairs. Wade let him know he did the repairs himself.

A few feet away, Tansy is at a table alone sulking. Wanda comes by and checks on her. Tansy let’s her know about the whole Zoe situation even the part about Zoe online dating. Wanda says that it’s probably just her insecurity and she should get their “star charts” done. According to her, it’ll measure their compatibility.

Zoe walks in and starts looking for the guy she is to meet. It turns out that it’s Meatball. I honestly don’t remember him from previous episodes. Wade dies laughing and pounds the bar to where a small section of the ceiling falls in. So much for saving money on repairs.

The next subplot involves Lavon and the mayor of Filmore. Lavon and Mayor Gainey exchange revenge tactics. In the end, AnnaBeth comes through with a major compromise that benefits Bluebell more. AnnaBeth was the saving grace of this episode.

Magnolia gets a nose piercing that Brick is against and she informs him that Shelby said it was cute. Brick calls Shelby in and come to find out, she didn’t like it but didn’t know she could say something. Brick tells her she has as much say so as he does.

(sighs) We’re almost through the ep. Hang in there.

Back to Tansy and those star charts. She shows them to George and is ecstatic that they are ultra-mega compatible. George has this hesitant look on his face and we all know it has something to do with his time of birth.

Rose and Max stealthily set up Zoe with Max’s dad, Michael. Their date is awkward but not unpleasant.

Back at the bar, Wade hired another contractor. This guy tells Wade that beam is fragile and may give way at any second. Wade jumps on the ladder to hold the beam while the guy gets his jack. Turns out he’s not going to get his equipment, he’s just gonna take cash from the register and leave Wade holding that beam. Lemon walks in a short time later and it’s implied she helps Wade but now they are seriously in need of cash.

Lemon goes to her father for help but with Shelby’s newfound knowledge that she has say so, she states that Lemon needs to stand on her own two feet. Lemon holds her tongue and leaves. Later Lavon approaches her and offers to loan her money. She realizes that Shelby was right and declines Lavon’s offer. Later Brick and Shelby have a tiff about him trying to sneak Lemon some money. It comes out that Brick is still hurt and angry about her leaving him in his hour of need. After talking about it, they decide they should just get married as soon as possible.

Zoe shows up to Rose and Max’s prom as a chaperon but really it’s to check out Michael again. She lets him know that she’s into him and he confesses he is not attracted to her and her drama. By the way, George and Tansy are also chaperons and Tans is not happy Zoe showed up. I can’t blame her. She confronts her (finally) and Zoe freaks out and makes a scene reinforcing Michael’s belief that she is full of drama.

Tansy decides to break up with George. I was really bummed for him. Poor guy, he can’t catch a break and it’s always Zoe’s fault.

While Lemon and Wade are drinking their problems away, Lavon shows up with what seems like half the town. With everyone pitching in they should be up and running in no time.

Shut the front door! Moment

I want Zoe and Wade together but not like this! Sympathy sex?!?!? Ugh!!!

Predictions

I have none. I don’t know where this show is going anymore.

Well there you have it. I know I said this last week, but hang in there. I have hopes that next week's ep should be better. Right?

The Novela Formula

It starts off wonderful when we get really hooked on a show. Season one is great, you’re connecting with the characters, the season finale was a cliffhanger and the WHAM, season two doesn’t look so hot. It’s a mess actually. You get ticked off and start going on the show’s Facebook page or GetGlue to vent about how the writers are ruining the show.
Corporate wasn’t sure about season 1 but when they see how much a following the show has and they start making changes. Writers are fired. New characters are brought in. People start dying or getting pregnant. Essentially, it’s the love of money that ruins a show. They begin to see how long they can drag out a certain plot or just switch the pace entirely.
This is quite the opposite with Spanish novelas. All novelas have an expiration date. You know it’s going to happen and all loose ends will be tied. Our favorite shows now could be greatly enhanced if we started taking this approach. We get a steady pace, an awesome ending and the actors can walk away from a show proud of it. There are a few shows this could benefit from and some shows that probably would be better off going as long as they can. Examples below:
Once Upon A Time is a show that can’t go on forever. I mean, it can, but it will start to suck. This is a 4 season show, maximum. And I think I was too generous with a fourth season.  How long can they keep going ‘round and ‘round with Regina?
Hart of Dixie is one that I’m on the fence about. We could get a conclusive ending if they were to pursue only the love angle, but it could go on for a while if they started focusing a little more on the medical emergencies. Then again, how many emergencies will happen in a small town?

Community should have an expiration date as well. Six seasons and movie; real fans know why. Also six seasons because they will have to graduate eventually. Although I’m not sure how we can keep them in college those additional 2 years….
I’m 50/50 about Vampire Diaries.  Should Elena just choose a brother and then wrap it up? Or should they go on for a while with a new villain coming out every season? That’s what they have been doing for so far. Season 1 was about Katherine. Then season 2 the scarier villain was Klaus of whom Katherine was afraid.  Now in season 3 we have Silas and he frightens even Klaus. I’m seeing a pattern here. And I think they should make a lateral move with the villains. Things will soon change now that The Originals will have a spin off and I’m eagerly awaiting that premier.
Big Bang Theory can go on for years. Some say it has jumped the shark, others still say it’s fresh.  Sitcoms like this usually don’t get stale quickly. The cast seems to be growing nicely and transitions are smooth.
Psych is another show that won’t peak quickly.  It’s mainly because every episode is a different but believable case.
Happy Endings can go on for decades.  I can’t even put into words how hilarious the writers/actors have made this show.
Those are just a few samples of shows I threw out there. I’d like to know what everyone thinks.  What causes a show to jump the shark and what can writers do to keep it from happening?

Community Season 4 Episode 11 Recap

Community
Season 4 Episode 11 Recap
"Basic Human Anatomy"

This past Thursday’s ep was hilars. One of the funniest ones so far. It opened with the group deciding what their group project for history was going to be. They decide on banners because Jeff wants “doable and passable” and also Annie and Shirley both want an A since they are both in the running for valedictorian.
Shirley mentions that it’s Britta and Troy’s anniversary of their first date. Of course Britta and Troy don’t even remember their anniversary and were put on the spot.  But Troy does remember that it’s third anniversary of Abed and he watching Freaky Friday. As a gift, he presented Abed a slew of body switching movies. Abed rifles through them and comes across the original "Freaky Friday". Both lament how the other has it easier and they both grab the DVD and fake body switching as a janitor flips the switch on and off during a “routine light switch check”.

The following morning Troy and Abed start the day as if they had switched bodies. This means that Abed is really going on the date with Britta. And by the way, Donald Glover did an outstanding job playing Troy-as-Abed. Danny Pudi didn’t impress me as much playing Abed-as-Troy but he’s so great in everything else that this is forgivable.

Jeff is irritated at the bit that Troy and Abed have committed to and he finds the dean. Dean tricks him into saying the same phrase as Troy and Abed and holds the DVD with Jeff. He does a fake body switch of his own with Jeff looking at him weirdly. Another “routine light switch check” goes on while this happens.  Jim Rash nailed it as Jeff!  He had the deep voice, the arrogance and even pretended to be on a Blackberry. After Jeff leaves, Annie and Shirley show up to find out why Leonard is ahead of them in the running for valedictorian. Dean-as-Jeff tells them Leonard has been taking easy classes and Annie is visibly attracted to him. I gotta admit………..so was I. Dean-as-Jeff rips off his shirt and hunts down Leonard who leaves. Not sure if that meant he was dropping out of school or what.

Abed-as-Troy is on the date with Britta and she slowly starts to realize that this bit is just Troy acting out because he doesn’t know how to break up with her. I kind of felt bad for Britta.

Jeff finds Troy-as-Abed and tries to get him to drop the bit. Realizing that he has to play along, he goes with Troy-as-Abed to find the missing DVD so they can “switch” back. While searching for the DVD Troy-as-Abed starts talking about how Troy wants to break up with Britta. Jeff is moved and takes Troy-as-Abed to the restaurant where Britta and Abed-as-Troy are on their date. The duo holds on to the DVD (that Troy pulls out of the backpack because he had it the entire time) and they switch back. Jeff succumbs to the bit and does the routine light switch check at the restaurant.

Everyone goes back to the study room to find that Pierce has done the project and it turned out pretty good.  We close with Britta and Troy hugging and knowing that everything is okay. This will ensure that there will be no awkwardness in future episodes.

With Chevy leaving the show, Pierce had a small part in the episode. The phasing out continues. If the next episodes are as funny as this one, then it won't be as painful.

Again, I loved this episode. It had some of the formulas that worked in previous eps:

  • Jeff was being cynical, sarcastic, selfish and on the blackberry. Then he has a revelation towards the end and shares his nuggets of wisdom with the others.
  • Troy and Abed were awesomely weird.
  • Annie was wound tightly. Yay!

High Points:

The Dean’s monologue about “body switching” with Jeff and referring to Jeff being “inside” of him had me dying!

Predictions:

The race between Annie and Shirley is going to get ugly.

There you have it Delta Cubes, looks like we are back on track. I knew it would get better. Next episode let’s all wear Delta Cube shirts while watching it. Just kidding, looking for a Delta Cube shirt sounds like work. But, I’ll probably make popcorn or something.

Hart of Dixie Season 2 Episode 20

Hart of Dixie
Season 2 Episode 20
"If Tomorrow Never Comes"

It all started with a donut bite.  Once I saw where this ep was going I wanted to shake Zoe. But then I thought about it, we’ve all had our irrational thoughts and anxieties. Zoe doesn’t want to die alone. Did she handle it well? No, not really. I’d like to think of this ep as a filler ep. I read comics where a certain issue may come off boring because it’s setting up the next issue where it gets real. So I’d like to think that the next ep will be off the chain, or at least funnier than this one.

Okay, I got over wanting to shake Zoe but then the side story with Lemon and Wade was up next. Wade invested in a flat screen TV for the Rammer Jammer. But Lemon wants to turn it into a salon thingy. And apparently salons don’t just mean a place where you get your hair done. Obviously, anyone can see that Wade’s idea was the more sensible one. It’s already a bar, the transition to a sports bar would be a smooth one.  Come on Lemon!

Over at George’s boat Tansy is moving her things in and boy, is it a lot of crap. How again did she fit all of that into a trailer????  While George is taking that all in, three men bust in and start hugging Tans. They’re her brothers (the Truitt Trio). And they are super hillbilly. The next day George offers to take the brothers to lunch sans Tans. He loves her so much he wants to get to know her family. Awww.*  The brothers are immature but he continues to put up with them. They make him an honorary Truitt. Sometime later they get kicked out of the Rammer Jammer and they are plastered. George leaves them and when Tansy finds out that they’re unsupervised she is ticked! Hours later Sheriff Bill calls George. The boys are locked up. George bails them out.  Tansy overhears George call the family and that seals it for them it is love and their relationship is awesome (according to George).

Brick has let Jonah know about his condition. He and Shelby are the only ones that know now. Allow me to interject, that I am super happy that Jonah is back. I don’t want him with Zoe……permanently, but I do think he’ll make a nice distraction. Maybe he’ll even be an enemy, but I think we’re way past that.  It’s just that Zoe shined when she had a nemesis. Anywho, Zoe is curious about why Brick and Jonah are so secretive and she finds out that the Brick has a pituitary tumor. It’s not serious but off she goes to discuss this with Brick and also find out how Shelby is taking it. She doesn’t think Shelby will stick around or be supportive. Brick informs her that Shelby has been by his side. Zoe bursts into tears as she realizes that she is forever alone. Brick leaves the room. Lol

Zoe runs into Shelby and mentions the risks of the procedure and sometimes people die. She then says that it’s best to have a loved one there for them. Shelby gets a worried look on her face and we cut to the next scene.

Lemon and AnnaBeth plan a surprise wine tasting to show Wade that the Rammer Jammer can be classy. Or something.I wasn't too keen on this scene.

Jonah finds Zoe and shows her a note that Shelby left Brick. Apparently, Zoe put worry in her heart about Brick and she ran for the hills. Brick hasn’t seen the note yet so Zoe vows to get Shelby to the hospital in time for the surgery. She finds her shopping and apologizes and when that doesn’t work, threatens to rip up her coupons. They arrive at the hospital in time where Brick proposes to her. She says yes.

While on a walk with AB, Lavon finds out Lemon has a wine tasting. He then then tells AB that he and Wade have a “fight night” planned. It’s where you watch mixed martial arts. It would have been cooler if there was real live fighting. j/k  AnnaBeth and Lavon both realize that they are too involved in Lemon and Wade’s Rammer Jammer battle and bow out of this one. But then five minutes later call their respective friends and let them know what’s going on. So now both events are happening inside the RJ and it’s a disaster. That is, until they pull together and combine events and magically everything works out.  It’s about compromise, folks.

Shut The Front Door! Moment:

Lemon and Wade knocking a wall down and having the roof cave in. That’s not the part I’m getting at, though. It’s when he got on top of her to protect her. They were already under a table for heaven’s sake! And why the heck was Lemon there? Was Lavon not available???

And last but not least, Zoe running to George and professing her feelings of love for him. I’m a little glad he went off on her like he did. It’s time to grow up and move on Zoe.

Predictions:

Jonah is gonna be in town for a bit. Someone will have to take over Brick’s patients.

That’s all for tonight. What did you think about this filler episode?

*Still don’t want him with Zoe.

Community Season 4 Episode 10 Recap

Community
Season 4 Episode 10 Recap
"Intro To Knots"

It’s Christmas and Jeff’s having a party! Wait, what? I feel like this was shown out of order and that this should have been aired after the Thanksgiving ep with Jeff reuniting with his father and Shirley having a disastrous Thanksgiving of her own.

All continuity aside, Annie blows in Jeff's crib and starts adding her own touches. The rest of the Greendale 6 (no Pierce, sad face) arrive and Annie informs them that they have failed their history paper. Jeff is upset as he is attempting to graduate early.

But have no fear; Annie has invited Cornwallis to the par-tay! The plan is to talk him into a higher grade. Jeff botches the plan and Cornwallis ends up tied to a chair as they force him to up their grade. Cornwallis takes it upon himself to manipulate the group into betraying one another as the person who will untie him gets an A while the rest fail. In the end, Jeff, with his wise words, says they will not betray one another.  Cornwallis was never tied and confessed to being lonely this holiday and that’s the reason he attended the soiree. Also it is revealed that Shirley is in the running for valedictorian. I did not see that coming.

High points: Abed in the Die Hard shirt and Chang asking “Is this a card?” Those were the only laugh out loud parts for me but that’s two more than last week.

Predictions: This isn't really a prediction just a hope. And it’s that Chang will be the new 7th person in the Greendale 7. We just have to get past his hatred of the group. Also I think he’s working with the Dean of City College.

While this wasn't a stellar episode it was certainly a step up from last week’s ep. There were glimmers of the old Community here and there and I still have high hopes the show can become as great as it once was.  It’s just painfully obvious that they are still working out the glitches of having new writers and dealing with Chevy Chase’s departure.

I say that we soldier on through this season! Until next time Greendale Humans!

West, Texas Devastation

The following article at DallasNews.Com is filled with tons of ways to help people in West, Texas. Many people are still homeless and need basic necessities.
